The Ohio group responsible for bolstering the tech industry in the Buckeye State has awarded $9.1 million to boost startups in Cincinnati.

Ohio Third Frontier on Tuesday approved the grants to four local groups. The funding represents a $3 million increase over what was awarded for the 2013-14 period and will fund the Southwest Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program through the end of 2016.

That program is administered by CincyTech, which received $3.25 million from Third Frontier, and includes funding for these organizations:The Brandery, CintriFuse, The HCDC Business Center, and The University of Cincinnati Technology Commercialization Accelerator.
