Drive Capital LLC is putting its name to the test and hitting the road for a university tour.
Fresh off a $250 million fund raise, the Columbus venture capital firm will visit Ohio State University, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Michigan, hosting “office hours” in co-founder Mark Kvamme’s personal 42-foot RV.
“One of the reasons we picked (the name) Drive is that you can drive to the cities around here quite effectively,” said Kvamme, formerly of Menlo Park, Calif.-based VC firm Sequoia Capital. “(From Silicon Valley), it takes you nine or 10 hours to get anywhere. That’s what’s neat about (this).”
